5 Stars Hotel In Water

Found on Cool Hunting, the Waterworld Hotel was designed by Atkin’s Architecture Group. This spectacular water filled quarry in Songjiang, China, is a 400 bed resort hotel constructed within the natural elements of the quarry. Underwater public areas and guest rooms add to the uniqueness, but the resort also boasts cafes, restaurants and sporting facilities. The hill was transformed in roof-gardens with terraces with a waterfall at the center. The waterfall is a transparent glass volume which is a central vertical circulation atrium connecting the quarry base with the ground level.
For the fans of extreme sports there is the rocky gym and a bungee jumping. And of course you can find a waterfall with a swimming pool, besides the possibility to practice various sportive activities linked to the water world.

Worlds Largest Snake

World Largest Tortoise

World's largest Tortoise is located on the main drag of Joshua Tree California. Perhaps this largest is the tiniest of all "Largest" category. The sculpture is famous namely "Myrtle the Turtle".At first it was only a float, made of wood and wire framework with cement and plaster, and a thick enamel-type paint skin. Even the creator didn't know that this the largest tortoise sculpture in the world. The Sculpture was gifted to the Chamber of Commerce there, they were amazed to find out they had a World’s Largest.

The Leatherback Sea Turtle loves to feed on jellyfish, so much so that it follows the Gulf Stream from the Caribbean to the UK just to feast on them. If only they could find some peanut butter fish, they just might grow even bigger.
After undergoing an autopsy for scientific information, the skin was removed and preserved and a mould of the body shape was made. The preserved skin was stretched over the mould to produce a life-like pose. The skeleton was also removed and prepared for display alongside the body. The taxidermy mount and associated skeleton were then put on display in their own gallery, with linking displays on the leatherback’s history, threats, ecology and conservation.
After 16 years on display, significant cracks had started to appear on the specimen. There had long been problems with cracking, and it had been patched up over the years. Low humidity was identified as a cause, so there was no choice but to close the gallery and conserve this popular specimen properly.

World Largest Airport

Dubai in June will open the first section of its new international airport, which aims to become the world’s largest passenger and cargo hub.

Al Maktoum International Airport on June 27 will open a cargo terminal with an initial capacity of 250,000 tons a year, Andrew Walsh, vice-president for cargo and logistics at Dubai World Central, the airport developer, said in an interview today in Dubai. The terminal’s capacity will increase to 600,000 tons a year, he said.

Dubai is expanding airport capacity to grab a bigger share of global trade and tourism. The emirate is spending $33 billion on Al Maktoum International on expectations its existing hub won’t be able to cope with surging demand. Dubai is seeking to recover from a slowdown last year that forced state-owned companies to delay debt repayments.

Dubai’s current airport, Dubai International, received 40.9 million passengers last year and is being expanded to accommodate 75 million by 2012. The emirate expects arrivals to reach 140 million a year by 2025.

“We need an area that doesn’t have the same constraints as now,” Walsh said. He said the first passenger terminal at Al Maktoum will be “substantially complete” in June and will eventually have a capacity of 7 million arrivals a year, though no date has been set for the start of passenger flights.

The new airport, some 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the current one, will eventually have five runways, four passenger terminals able to accommodate 160 million arrivals a year, and 18 cargo terminals with a capacity of 12 million tons.
